The Gothic Art Nouveau of Matt Hughes

Matt Hughes is a traditional painter from Atlanta, Georgia, who is a pioneer in combining two distinct styles of traditional art: the romantic aesthetic of Art Nouveau with the dark concepts that permeate Gothic art.  Matt’s art combines both styles into an intimate rendezvous, sharing dark and ethereal realms immersed in religion and mythology, death and spirituality, human nature and inherent evil, ultimately leaving the viewer with a profundity of self-reflection and introspection.

If you’ve ever taken an art class, you know how difficult and frustrating traditional art can be, so that makes Matt’s work all the more spectacular.

Check out these amazing paintings from Matt’s gallery.
