Best of the Web #49

Happy holidays everyone, I hope that wherever you are, you are able to spend some time with friends and family to celebrate the holiday season.  Since it’s Monday, we’ve gone around and rounded up the best posts from last week from the various design blogs.

This post features a lot of dazzling photography roundups, from beaches to waterfalls, and some really mind-boggling vanishing point photographs from @abduzeedo.  Additionally, Paul from ForCG.com shows us how to create a spectacular holiday card.  Also, don’t miss the great space roundup from my new blog, CreativeFan.com

I hope you enjoy these posts, and have a great start to your week!

Best of the Web #39

thumbWell, September is over and we’re already on our way into October.  Since last week marked the end of the month, a lot of month-end roundups took place across the design web.  My personal favorite is the roundup that I included here by SmashingApps, which had some really nice resources.

Also included are some really inspirational sets, a really nice planet tutorial effect by PSDTUTS, and of course, some useful resources.

Hope you find them useful, and as always, if you want to contribute or have a suggestion or comment, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thanks, and have a great week!

62 Incredible and Breathtaking Video Game Wallpapers

thumbVideogames are one of the most popular forms of media today, because they allow interaction between the user and the virtual environment.  Combined with the power of computer graphics, there are limitless possibilities for the creativity of videogames.  There are role playing games, first person shooters, adventure games, flight simulators, movie to videogame adaptations, real time strategy, turn based, and a host of other forms of videogames.  Videogame topics include everything from sports, to futuristic sci-fi battles, to historical battles between ancient kingdoms.  In many ways, videogames echo human passions, our primal selves, and express all the ways humans wish they could be free from the mechanistic society that has developed.

Today, we’ve got a roundup of 62 incredible, breathtaking, gorgeous, inspirational and creative videogame wallpapers.  Each of these wallpapers captures the essence of the specific game, and drives you to want to seek out the game and try it.  They are a variety of sizes in the fullview, but the biggest size is always the one linked to.

I hope you all enjoy these, and if you do, please Digg, Stumble, and share it with your friends in any manner you can.  Thanks for reading everyone, and as always, subscribe if you haven’t already, so you can see more of these posts in the future.

Best of the Web #30

thumbAs always, since it’s Monday, I’ve gone ahead and rounded up the best posts from the design world from the previous week.  While certainly not the “end-all” of best of the web posts, I think that these posts illustrate the 7-10 posts that I think readers would most enjoy.

This week had some great tutorials, some really awesome inspirational posts (including one roundup of really cool Threadless t-shirts), and of course, some excellent design freebies.  Of course, if you feel like I missed any posts, please let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading as always, everyone, and if you ever need anything, just drop me an email or comment.
