Best of the Web #45

KayakingGood afternoon (or other variant based on where you are), and welcome to another edition of best of the web.  This past week had a lot of photography roundups, everything from out-of-bounds style to tilt-shift photography.  Also, there were two interesting tutorials on comic and cartoon style illustrations.  My personal favorite post was a review of Photoshop brushes by SmashingMagazine, but of course, all the posts from past week that are included here are pretty good and definitely worth seeing.

Anyways, hope you all like, and as always, if you have any comments or suggestions for me, or want to contribute, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Have a great day!

The Most Popular Brushes on the Web

There is an ongoing debate between designers about the originality involved in using custom made brushes.  They save time and help make designing easier, but they also detract some originality from the artwork. However, I’m of the opinion that as long as you create something unique with the brush, then true artistry still lies with the creator, not with the brush.  However, what do you think?  Let us know in the comments.

Meanwhile, here are some of the most popular and highest rated brushes on the internet.  Hopefully you find them helpful, and if you have any you would like to see added, just leave a comment.  Don’t forget to subscribe too!
