Hey again everyone, it’s Monday, so I’ve gone around and rounded up the best posts from last week. As always, there some great posts which have been included here.

Good afternoon (or other variant based on where you are), and welcome to another edition of best of the web. This past week had a lot of photography roundups, everything from out-of-bounds style to tilt-shift photography. Also, there were two interesting tutorials on comic and cartoon style illustrations. My personal favorite post was a review of Photoshop brushes by SmashingMagazine, but of course, all the posts from past week that are included here are pretty good and definitely worth seeing.

Hey again everyone, hope everything is well. I’ve been pretty busy lately, so I apologize for the sporadic updates. Another week has gone by in the blogosphere, so there were a lot of new posts to choose from for this week’s Best of the Web edition.
Case studies are becoming more and more popular as a method of learning, where designers can show off their thought process without giving away all their secrets, so we have included some here today. As always, there’s some photography inspiration, and some web design inspiration. And of course, some awesome roundups of tutorials to keep you motivated and learning. Hey again everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. Here in the United States, we’re celebrating Columbus Day today, so luckily I have the day off. In the spirit of discovery, I’ve gone around and found the best posts from the past week and rounded them up all up into one big post.

28 Astounding Illustrations by Michael Dashow

Michael Dashow is a science fiction, fantasy, and childrens’ 2D and 3D artist. While his works are often made digitally, he is also an expert at watercolor painting. His illustrations have been featured in such publications as ImagineFX, Fantasy Art Magazine, Expose, and others. He has won several awards, including multiple CGSociety challenges. One of his most notable clients is Blizzard Entertainment, where he worked on Diablo II and III.
His illustrations encompass a wide range of styles, from emotional to bizarre, but each piece is a masterpiece, and his capturing of the finest details is one of the ways he stands out in the world of illustration. For some of his works, I have included both the large version, and the detail version, so you can see the incredible amounts of effort and talent that are involved in each piece.
