Best of the Web #51

Hello again everyone, welcome back.  Last week, we didn’t have a best of the web edition, but this week we resume our normal post schedule, so as usual I’ve gone around and rounded up some posts from the design web that are inspirational, useful, or just plain interesting.

There’s an interesting post on Abduzeedo about how designers get influenced through music, which is a rather interesting read.  There are a couple resourceful posts on vectors and tutorials, and some inspirational posts as well.

Hope you find them useful, and always share your favorite posts with us in the comments so everyone can check them out!

Have a great day.

179 Totally Clever and Creative Package Designs

thumbOne of the best ways to get your product noticed is to have a clever package design.  A package allows you to combine your branding elements, such as a logo, with other creative concepts in order to not only sell your product, but enhance a branding image and gain publicity.  Some package designs are utter failures, because they don’t grab your attention, and they’re incredibly difficult to open.  Many designers work for long periods of time to come up with a creative package design, because their career hinges on it.

In this post, we’ve gone around and collected 179 of the most creative, inspirational, cool and clever package designs from various brands, and featured them here.  From soft drinks to perfume, cigarettes and alcohol, you’ll wish you could find these packages in your local store.

Hopefully you like these designs, and if you do, please Digg and Stumble this post so everyone can get a chance to see it.  Thanks, and have a great day everyone!  Oh, don’t forget to subscribe too.

thumbHey again everyone, hope everything is well.  I’ve been pretty busy lately, so I apologize for the sporadic updates.  Another week has gone by in the blogosphere, so there were a lot of new posts to choose from for this week’s Best of the Web edition.

Case studies are becoming more and more popular as a method of learning, where designers can show off their thought process without giving away all their secrets, so we have included some here today.  As always, there’s some photography inspiration, and some web design inspiration.  And of course, some awesome roundups of tutorials to keep you motivated and learning.  Be sure to check out all the posts I’ve included below, they’re all pretty awesome.

Hope you have a great start to your week, and stay inspired.  See you tomorrow!

thumbThere are some incredibly talented and creative minds in the field of graphic design.  Combining 3D, photomanipulation, and digital painting can result in some pretty incredible effects.  However, designers don’t always create serious images for clients, sometimes, they just like to goof off.

Today, we have 55 epic, weird, insane, crazy, neat, confusing and just all around freakin’ awesome images that you have to see.  If you glance at one and don’t get the idea, be sure to click and see the fullsize image, because there’s some hidden tricks in some of the images.  A lot of these are a perfect wallpaper size, too.

I hope you all think this post is as cool as I do, and if you do, please Stumble, Digg and share it with your friends.

Thanks for reading, everyone!  Enjoy.
