Written and directed by Majid Majidi, Children of Heaven is an Iranian family drama film released in 1998. The story plots over the adventures of a brother and sister to find a lost pair of shoes. Amir Farrokh Hashemian as Ali plays the role the elder brother while Bahare Seddiqi as Zahra is the younger sister. The movie was produced by Amir Esfandiari and Mohammad Esfandiari budgeting around US$180,000. The movie grabbed many awards in the Fajr Film Festival, Newport International Film Festival, Warsaw International Film Festival and Singapore International Film Festival. Produced by Pixar Animation Studios, WALL E is science-fiction romantic comedy film directed by Andrew Stanton. The movie was released on June 23, 2008 in Los Angeles and was distributed by Walt Disney Studios. Jim Morris was the main producer to the movie and had a budget of $180 million. The story to the movie was given by Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter. According to the story in the year 2700 when earth is no longer habitable, a wide-eyed robot named Wall E travels to the outer space for the quest of his new friend Eva. The movie was the ninth highest grossing film of 2008 with the total collection of $521,311,860. The movie was nominated for Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing at the 81st Academy Awards. It won Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and was also pushed for an Academy Award for Best Picture nomination.

Another great movie made by Majid Majidi, The Color of Paradise was the first Iranian movie to be nominated for American Academy Awards. From the studios of Varahonar Company, the movie was released on February 9, 1999 and was distributed in America by Sony Pictures Classics. The plot of the story is about a blind boy named Mohammed who is released from his special school in Tehran for summer vacation.
