Videogames are one of the most popular forms of media today, because they allow interaction between the user and the virtual environment. Combined with the power of computer graphics, there are limitless possibilities for the creativity of videogames. There are role playing games, first person shooters, adventure games, flight simulators, movie to videogame adaptations, real time strategy, turn based, and a host of other forms of videogames. Videogame topics include everything from sports, to futuristic sci-fi battles, to historical battles between ancient kingdoms. In many ways, videogames echo human passions, our primal selves, and express all the ways humans wish they could be free from the mechanistic society that has developed.

Great collection, good job on collecting them. These are all excellent and beautiful but you HAVE to link them to the source so that -in this case- we can download it!

I enjoyed a majority of these pics; some were, indeed, breathtaking and inspiring. I do wish the artist names and/or game sites in question for each had been linked. I would have like to find more from some of these artists in some cases. (Well, except that Wonder Woman one…really, was she holding water in her mouth? And her groin…yeah, just doesn’t bear too much scrutiny.)
You should check out Ray Lederer’s work, for future game illustration round ups. He does some pretty incredible stuff, especially biomechanics inspired work.

Most of these pics were great, very talented artist. What happened to Wonder Woman? Broke my heart she was my hero when I was kid! LOL. I suppose she is getting old too.

This is a great selection of game desktop wallpapers. My favorite being the Modern Warfare 2 soldier. Lots of negative space for my desktop icons.
If there’s one thing that I wish you did, it would be that they need game names under them. I wasn’t sure where a few of them were from. Will you be doing a second list?
